Polly grew up on the Suffolk coast, and now lives in Norfolk with her husband and son.

Prior to signing her debut publication deal, Polly was awarded both the Curtis Brown Creative Yesterday Scholarship, and the Annabel Abbs Creative Writing MA Scholarship at the University of East Anglia.

After two whirlwind pre-empts, her first novel, The Illustrated Child, was published in 2020, and was runner up in the Bridport Prize’s Peggy Chapman Andrews Award for a First Novel.

Polly has since written three more novels for adults, and one for teens. Her latest novel for adults, The House of Fever, was published in August.

Polly is currently working on a new historical mystery, and her second teen novel, The Vulpine, is out in January 2025 with Scholastic
