Richard Osman, Stacey Halls and Claire Douglas Win at the Nielsen Bestseller Awards 2024
This week, three of Juliet’s authors were garlanded as winners of this year’s Nielsen Bestseller Awards.
The event returned in person to Ham Yard Hotel in central London this year, in partnership with BolognaBookPlus, with awards presented by comedian Shaparak Khorsandi.
Based on UK sales volumes, the awards honoured authors whose books had surpassed sales thresholds — Silver (250,000 sales), Gold (500,000 sales), and Platinum (1,000,000 sales).
Four titles achieved Platinum status inducting them into the "21st century Hall of Fame", which now includes 157 titles. Richard Osman received his second Platinum award for The Bullet That Missed (Viking).
Stacey Halls - winner of the Women’s Futures Prize in 2022 – was recognised for her bestselling debut novel The Familiars which achieved Silver status. Published by Zaffre in 2019, it was the bestselling novel of that year, reaching no. 2 in the Sunday Times bestseller list.
Meanwhile, down the road in Nine Elms, Claire Douglas was presented with her second Silver award, for The Girls Who Disappeared. Her no. 1 bestselling novel has now sold over 350,000 copies in the UK.
Congratulations to Richard, Stacey and Claire!
