NINE HIDDEN LIVES by Robert Gold to be published by Bookouture US

We’re delighted that Nine Hidden Lives by Robert Gold is to be published by Bookouture in the US on April 10th 2025, publishing simultaneously with the UK Sphere edition. It is the fourth book in the Ben Harper series, where Harper investigates the 39-year-old cold case of a murdered fellow journalist. Managing director Jenny Geras acquired North American rights from Juliet Mushens.

Rob commented, "I couldn’t be more delighted to have Bookouture publish Nine Hidden Lives into the American market. Thanks to Bookouture, Twelve Secrets was an Amazon bestseller in the US and I know their brilliant team will help Nine Hidden Lives be equally successful.”

Jenny added, "I’m so proud to have brought Rob’s incredible series to a whole new market in the US and delighted to be able to publish this fourth outing for Ben Harper simultaneously with our UK colleagues at Sphere.”

And finally, Juliet said, "We love working with the team at Bookouture and are thrilled that US readers will be able to continue with Ben Harper’s adventures!"

Congratulations, Rob!

Secrets only survive in the dark

When journalist Ben Harper is asked to help re-examine an unsolved murder case from thirty years ago, he immediately agrees. It's not just that the victim was also a journalist, murdered after she'd published a series of shocking interviews with victims of domestic abuse. It's also that he understands all too well the need of victim's daughter, Doctor Uma Jha, for answers.

But it's not long before their investigation leads to threats being made on Uma's life. Ben needs to unravel this crime before it's too late, but instead he finds himself tangled in a web of lies and deception. After all, a crime like murder has implications for many people.

People who have been keeping secrets for thirty years, and will do whatever it takes to protect them.
