Bookouture has acquired three books by Robert Gold
Bookouture has snapped up a three-book deal with Robert Gold, the pseudonym of Rob Waddington, group sales director at Penguin Random House, for publication in the US.
Managing director Jenny Geras and commissioning editor Ruth Jones acquired north American rights from Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment. The three thrillers – Twelve Secrets, Eleven Liars and Ten Seconds – will be published in the US on 2nd August 2024.
Mushens said: “I’m really excited to have my first project with Bookouture – and what a project! Rob’s publishing goes from strength to strength in the UK and in translation, and I’m delighted to see a North American audience fall for his fantastic sense of pace, great characters, and intricate plotting.”
Published in the UK by Sphere, an imprint of Little, Brown, all three titles follow investigative journalist Ben Harper and have sold more than 165,000 copies combined, according to the publisher.
Gold commented: “Bookouture bring a unique, inventive and impassioned approach to publishing. I’ve watched their continued and growing success from afar for a number of years, and could not be more delighted in having them as my publisher for the US market. Jenny and her team are both innovators and creatively ambitious, and I cannot wait to be working with them.”
Geras added: “Rob is an incredibly pacey, gripping and commercial writer and it’s easy to see why this series has been such a huge success in the UK. We look forward to taking Ben Harper to a whole new readership in North America.”
